“An artist is a creature driven by demons. He doesn’t know why they choose him and he’s usually too busy to wonder why.” – William Faulkner

I am an abstract artist, a freelance writer and I enjoy the non-typical things life has to offer. I consider myself a goth (#HappyGothsExist), a pirate, a lover of culture and art. Music from all walks of life contribute to my inspiration; gothic, industrial, ebm, synth-pop are my mainstays; throw some staples from the 40’s in for good measure. If it has a good beat and I can dance to it, I’m sold.

A graduate of USF, I gained my BA in Anthropology with a minor in Art History (a result of my original goal of a BA in Graphic Design ending with a renewal of my love of culture – the two go hand in hand). For a while, I pursued a degree in India Studies.
I was a student of Bharatanatyam, a 3,000 year old classical dance of S. India, for over 10 years. Two USF study abroad programs provided me the opportunity to visit both North and South India. Subsequently I wrote a paper titled “The Darśan of Dance” and created a video to compliment it. I’ve also been to Puerto Rico, S. Africa and Namibia. Eventually I’d like to get to Vilnius, Lithuania as well as Bucharest, Romania and Helsinki, Finland.

Occasionally I indulge in the nerd life. Recently I tried my hand at DMing for the first time. I [attempt] to play Magic the Gathering (currently collecting all of the vampire and cat themed cards) along with a slew of other table top games. I love breaking the mold; think Ashnod’s Coupon, designing actual spell scrolls, maps, etc.; yes, I’m that person. And I totally do not have a dice obsession. Breaking away from the rush of the electronic world and connecting with friends provides some of the best moments in life.

My curio of uranium/vaseline glass will either intrigue or frighten you. It’s a beautiful array of “creepy green light”.
I have a slight obsession with fountain pens and frequently write letters to my friends and loved ones. #snailmailrevolution To date, I have 15 pens in my collection including but not limited to: a Montblanc Heritage Rouge et Noir, 1956 Sheaffer Snorkel & pencil set in pastel blue, (with original case and instructions), Pilot Vanishing Point in violet, a 100 year old Conklin ring top “Lady’s/Student” and several Lamy pens, including a limited edition gold (not real gold, of course). Yes, I use them all.
